PRP Injections For Back Pain

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injections are an innovative treatment offered at Atlas Medical Center to address neck, lower back, and mid-back pain. This procedure involves extracting a small sample of the patient’s blood, which is processed to isolate the platelets, growth factors, and other healing components. This concentrated plasma, rich in regenerative properties, is injected into the affected area, stimulating tissue repair and reducing inflammation.

PRP injections harness the body’s natural healing mechanisms to promote tissue regeneration and pain relief. The platelets and growth factors in the injected plasma encourage the repair of damaged tissues, such as muscles, tendons, and ligaments, while reducing inflammation in the surrounding area. This targeted approach alleviates pain and promotes long-term healing, making PRP injections valuable for individuals seeking effective relief from neck and back pain.

Causes of Back Pain

Back pain can result from a wide range of conditions that affect mobility and quality of life. Atlas Medical Center specializes in addressing the underlying causes of back pain through advanced, non-surgical, regenerative therapies. Here are some common reasons patients seek treatment:

Sciatica: This condition results from irritation or compression of the sciatic nerve, which runs from the lower back down the legs. Symptoms include sharp, radiating pain, numbness, and tingling, often affecting one side of the body.

Osteoarthritis and Lumbar Arthritis: Age-related wear and tear on cartilage can lead to osteoarthritis, which causes pain, stiffness, and reduced flexibility in the spine. Lumbar arthritis, specifically affecting the lower back, can disrupt daily activities.

Facet Syndrome: Inflammation or degeneration of the facet joints in the spine can lead to localized pain and limited range of motion. This condition benefits from precise interventions to reduce joint inflammation and restore flexibility.

Degenerative Disc Disease: A natural result of aging, this condition occurs when spinal discs lose hydration and elasticity, leading to chronic pain, disc herniation, or nerve compression. Regenerative therapies help promote disc repair.

Injuries from Work or Car Accidents: Traumatic incidents can cause acute or chronic back pain due to muscle strains, ligament injuries, or spinal damage. Timely treatment can address the source of pain and aid recovery.

These conditions, whether chronic or acute, can severely limit mobility and reduce your quality of life. Atlas Medical Center offers innovative treatments, such as PRP injections, spinal decompression therapy, and cold laser therapy, to target these issues at their source and promote long-term healing. By addressing the symptoms and root causes of back pain, patients can experience significant relief and improved functionality.

Spinal Decompression Therapy

Spinal decompression is a non-invasive treatment to alleviate neck and lower back pain by stretching the spine. This specialized back pain treatment, available in Irving and Fort Worth, targets alleviating pressure on spinal discs, joints, and nerves, potentially alleviating discomfort and enhancing mobility. During a session, patients lie on a specialized table equipped with traction mechanisms that apply controlled traction forces to the spine, creating negative pressure within the discs and promoting the retraction of herniated or bulging discs.

The process of spinal decompression works by creating space between the vertebrae, allowing for improved circulation and nutrient exchange within the spinal discs. As the spine is gently stretched, pressure on compressed nerves is reduced, leading to pain relief and enhanced healing. Additionally, spinal decompression therapy can help improve spinal alignment and flexibility, addressing underlying issues contributing to neck and lower back pain for long-term relief.

Cold Laser Therapy

Cold laser therapy is a cutting-edge treatment for individuals seeking relief from neck, lower back, and mid-back pain. Also known as low-level laser therapy (LLLT), this non-invasive procedure utilizes specific wavelengths of light to penetrate the skin and target underlying tissues. Unlike surgical lasers that produce heat, cold laser therapy delivers low-intensity light that does not generate thermal damage, making it safe for pain management.

Cold laser therapy involves stimulating cellular energy production within the targeted tissues. This back pain treatment in Irving and Fort Worth, known as photobiomodulation, enhances cellular metabolism and promotes tissue repair, reducing inflammation and alleviating pain. Cold laser therapy also helps improve blood circulation, facilitating the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to injured tissues while removing metabolic waste products. By channeling light at a cellular level, cold laser therapy offers patients a non-invasive approach to treating neck and back pain.

Real Patients. Real Results.

I went to Beach Pain Center for a slipped disk in my spine and received their decompression therapy and with in weeks my pain level went way down and I was able to be active again. Dr. Noorani and his staff were incredibly helpful and very knowledgable on how to help my condition through, physical therapy stretches, electro therapy, ultra sound therapy, decompression and adjustments at every appointment. They were always concerned with how I was doing and adjusting things to ensure that my pain was continuing to get better. They always greeted me by name and were some of the friendliest staff I've ever experienced. Beach Pain Center is a great chiropractic facility that I would highly recommend.

I was in a severe car accident back in April. I herniated a disc in my lower back, tore the vast majority of the ligaments in my neck and suffered a minor concussion. The pain was pretty bad, I was put on multiple prescription drugs to help ease it but that simply masked the pain. Beach Pain Center actually took care of problem itself. The people there were beyond nice to the point that the visits didn't even feel like doctor appointments, they were actually kind of fun. It didn't feel like a horde of doctors and nurses just doing their job, it was actual people trying to get me back into the sports that I loved. With just a couple months of rehab I went from being a couch potato, to an even better athlete than I was before the accident. I am beyond grateful for all their help, for helping me get my life back to normal.

I can not speak highly enough of Dr. Noorani and all the staff who run the center. Everyone is always very professional, knowledgable and kind. Results wise, I could not be happier. With a couple of lower lumbar bulging discs, my pain was at 8-9 (unable to fully sleep, walk and tie shoes properly). After a week or two of treatments the pain was down to a 3-4 and after a month it was almost non-existent. In my personal case the Spinal Decompression was a huge factor in my pain relief and recovery (coupled with the rehab therapy and chiropractic care by Dr. Noorani).

I highly recommend Beach Pain Center as a viable option for any pain caused by sports, accidents, chronic or otherwise!

My sciatica was killing me. I had a old auto accident injury in which I had fractured two vertebrae and herniated the disc in between. I had not had a problem with it for several years when it acted up on me. I could not get comfortable no matter what position I tried. Not even laying down. It was horrible. It felt like I had been kicked in the butt by a mule. I had heard of spinal decompression so I decided to give it a try. It worked so well I still can't believe it. The decompression along with the physical therapy has been wonderful. My sciatic pain is gone and I am virtually pain free after just 6 weeks of treatment. Thank you so much.

Dr. Noorani honest, professional and very experienced doctor! My husband and I came to him for a check-up due to severe back and neck pain. My neck was motionless and severe lower back pain. My husband had severe middle back pain that sometimes he couldn't walk. Thank God we found this splendid doctor who, after 3 years of seeing him and following his program as indicated without any type of medicine and following his instructions, I can say that I feel cured of my neck and my back. My husband has never had anything so severe happen to his back, he learned what he should and should not do to take care of his back. We are very grateful to doctor noorani and we recommend him with our eyes closed. We were paid walk-in clients and it was the best decision we could have made. The girls in the front desk are always very friendly and there are always spaces available almost immediately. Thank you Dr noorani Blessings forever to such an honest person as you are 🙂 Maria and Juan

Trigger Point
Injections

Trigger point injections target localized areas of muscle tightness and discomfort associated with neck, lower back, and mid-back pain. These injections typically consist of anesthetic medication and anti-inflammatory agents, which are directly administered into the trigger points, or knots, within the affected muscles. By precisely targeting these trigger points, the injections help to alleviate muscle tension and reduce pain.

The anesthetic medication temporarily numbs the nerve endings in the trigger point, providing immediate pain relief. Simultaneously, the anti-inflammatory agents reduce inflammation and promote healing within the affected muscle tissue.  Furthermore, trigger point injections can break the cycle of muscle spasms and discomfort, enabling patients to experience improved range of motion and functional mobility, thus contributing to effective relief through back pain treatment in Irving and Fort Worth.

Sacroiliac
Injections

Sacroiliac (SI) joint injections address neck, lower back, and mid-back pain stemming from dysfunction in the sacroiliac joint. This joint, located where the spine and pelvis meet, can become inflamed or irritated, leading to significant discomfort. The injections typically contain a combination of corticosteroids and local anesthetics, which are precisely delivered into the sacroiliac joint under fluoroscopic guidance.

The mechanism behind sacroiliac injections involves the anti-inflammatory properties of corticosteroids, which help to reduce swelling and alleviate pain in the affected joint. Additionally, the local anesthetic provides immediate pain relief, allowing patients to experience increased comfort and mobility. By directly targeting the source of pain in the sacroiliac joint, these injections can effectively manage symptoms associated with neck and back pain.

Myofascial Therapy (Trigger Point Therapy)

Myofascial therapy is a specialized treatment aimed at addressing neck, lower back, and mid-back pain by targeting myofascial trigger points and muscle tension. Fascia is the connective tissue that surrounds muscles, bones, and organs, and when it becomes tight or restricted, it can contribute to discomfort and restricted movement. Myofascial therapy involves manual techniques, such as massage and stretching, to release tension in the fascia and alleviate pain.

During myofascial release therapy, the therapist applies sustained pressure to specific trigger points, knots, or areas of tension within the muscles. This back pain treatment in Irving and Fort Worth assists in breaking up adhesions and releasing constricted fascia, enhancing blood flow and muscle flexibility for improved comfort and mobility. By addressing the underlying issues contributing to neck and back pain, myofascial therapy can provide significant relief and restore mobility, allowing individuals to resume their daily activities easily.

Back Pain Relief FAQs

How do you relieve back pain at home?

Managing back pain at home can provide relief and prevent further discomfort. Here are some effective strategies:

  • Cold and Heat Therapy – Apply ice packs for the first 48 hours to reduce inflammation, followed by heat to relax muscles.
  • Gentle Stretching – Incorporate light stretching and mobility exercises to prevent stiffness and improve flexibility.
  • Over-the-Counter Pain Relievers – Medications like ibuprofen or acetaminophen can help reduce pain and inflammation.
  • Proper Posture – Maintain a neutral spine while sitting, standing, or lifting to reduce strain.
  • Supportive Sleeping Positions – Sleep on your side with a pillow between your knees or on your back with a pillow under your knees.
  • Low-Impact Movement – Activities like walking or swimming promote circulation and help prevent stiffness.
Should You Push Through Back Pain?

Experiencing occasional back pain is common, but chronic daily back pain is not normal and may indicate an underlying issue. Common causes include poor posture, muscle strain, herniated discs, arthritis, or spinal conditions. Consider the following:

  • Avoid Strenuous Activities – Do not push through intense pain; modify activities to prevent worsening symptoms.
  • Stay Active – Prolonged rest can weaken muscles; opt for gentle movement instead.
  • Seek Medical Help – If pain persists beyond a few weeks or worsens, professional evaluation may be necessary.
Is it normal to have back pain every day?

Daily back pain could indicate an underlying issue, such as:

  • Sciatica or Herniated Discs – Nerve compression causing radiating pain, numbness, or weakness.
  • Arthritis or Degenerative Disc Disease – Age-related conditions causing chronic pain and stiffness.
  • Injury or Trauma – Work or car accident-related back injuries may require medical intervention.
